Cameryn and Carly B'Not Mitzvah Pre-Shoot

I'm so excited to be capturing these girls' B'not Mitzvah next month!  As is often customary, we met for a Pre-Shoot in Downtown Ft Lauderdale to capture some informal images of these girls before their big day.  A Pre-Shoot portrait session is a great way to get some nice images to use as a sign-in book for guests to record congratulatory messages, or to use for decor around the room at the reception.  It's also a great way to develop a rapport with your photographer prior to the event.

We met at one of my favorite urban locations, and Carly and Cameryn brought their camera-ready faces.  We had a blast creating beautiful images together.  

Dani's Bat Mitzvah Pre-Shoot

I had the pleasure of meeting half of this family two years ago at a photography workshop I attended, and photographing all of them a year and a half ago.  We've kept in touch on Facebook, and I was so thrilled to be able to capture Dani's Bat Mitzvah this weekend!  Now that the big event is behind us and these images are no longer a surprise, I'm so excited to be able to share them!  

Dani is a lovely girl, beautiful inside and out, and completely down to earth at the same time.  She and her sister Ava are so sweet to each other, and comfortable both with each other, and in front of the camera.  This is an awesome combination, which made this photo session pure magic, and we were able to create many So You images together!!

Desi's Mitzvah Pre-Shoot

This lovely lady celebrated her Bat Mitzvah this weekend!  A few weeks prior, we went down to the Wynwood Art District in Miami for some hip portraits.  Desi rocked her session, and her mitzvah on Saturday. While I work on those images, enjoy these from our time together!

Ryan’s Bar Mitzvah Pre-Shoot

This young man will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah this Shabbat.  He’d seen another sporty pre-shoot I’d done, but since I’d just done it, wanted to come up with something different.  Through some discussion, I determined that his main sport is basketball, and I got to work researching courts.  My original idea was for a court in a cool urban area, but I wasn’t able to come up with one.  I also looked near the beach, but didn’t find one where I was looking in Google maps.  Mom asked again about the beach, and I Googled it right before giving up.  I’m so glad I persevered, because at it turns out, there IS a basketball court right by the beach, and we met there on a gorgeous night, and turned out these amazing images!  I can’t wait to capture the main event this weekend!

Dylan’s Sporty Mitzvah Pre Shoot

Dylan celebrated his Bar Mitzvah this past weekend, so now that these gorgeous photos have been revealed to his family and friends, I get to share them with you here!  Mom and I had put in some detailed strategizing prior to the session to ensure we’d have a location with all the right sports fields that wouldn’t be full of teams playing and would easily be able to represent the sports he most enjoys.  The skies even threatened rain a few hours before, and I said no, it’s Florida, let’s give it a go, and I’m so glad we did!  Dylan was relaxed in front of the camera and we took turns with him going along with my crazy ideas of how we could best capture his sports and me just capturing him doing his thing.  His smile comes easily and naturally, so I’m extra glad we waited the extra few weeks to show off those post-braces pearly whites!
