A mitzvah pre shoot portrait session is a great opportunity to get to know your photographer, get some fun relaxed photos with your family, and get some photos of the mitzvah child to enjoy in decor or programs or for other day of celebratory photo purposes. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the evening with Leila and her family. Mom and I had chatted quite a bit before our session. She wasn’t sure if the family would be able to “pull it together”, and I shared a story about one of my best portfolio pics of all time, which was taken in a very not put together moment. I encouraged her to gather the family and show as themselves, and THEY DID. They showed up authentically in front of the camera, and it’s magic every time. Thank you for sharing your you with me! Enjoy this sneak peek of the result!

I had so much fun exploring Wynwood and getting creative with this lovely lady, who is celebrating her Bat Mitzvah this spring. She was so comfortable in front of the camera, and we got such a fun variety of images. I can’t wait to complete her gallery and capture the celebration to follow!

This lovely lady will be celebrating her bat mitzvah next month, so we met at one of my favorite places to capture her and her family. I just love the combination of humans and art and find that it brings out the best in people and lets me capture them. And I always say, when you show me your so you, that is where the magic happens!

I always love being able to capture a family as they grow, and I cannot believe that the little brother from his sister Lily’s Bat Mitzvah is now the Bar Mitzvah boy! We had an awesome bar mitzvah pre shoot session capturing Jacob’s love of video games, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them to capture his service and party!

We’re all aware of the passage of time. Me more than most. It’s part of why I chose photography. I say, “I can freeze time. What’s your superpower?” And yet, I’m still amazed at how quickly time flies. It feels like we just did big sister’s mitzvah, and the next is already here! It’s always an honor when I get to capture moments for families. And I think Ferris Bueller said it best, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
