Rebecca and Miki's Thanksgiving Wedding in NY

Even when I’m a guest at a wedding, I can’t help but experience the event through my photography, so I went ahead and brought my camera.  I traveled light, with one flash and my lightest lens (I normally have several of each), and enjoyed capturing some moments of my family as we celebrated with Rebecca and Miki. 

They had a traditional Jewish wedding, where the men and women greeted guests separately.  The groom makes his way to the bride accompanied by dancing and singing and peeks under the veil to confirm he has the right bride.  Following the ceremony, they had a joyous celebration. 

Thursday night after the wedding, the family got to celebrate again for Thanksgiving.  After the meal, the blessings from the wedding ceremony were repeated over a glass of wine.  There are 7 blessings, which will be repeated for 7 nights following their wedding!  What a way to start a life together, surrounded by blessings and family and friends.  I was happy to make the trip to celebrate, and equally happy to have captured these moments.  I look forward to celebrating more happy moments with this family!

I was excited when this family called to schedule their holiday session.  They are so photogenic, and mom wanted an urban session, my favorite location!  We were rewarded with lovely light out on the train tracks and around this little part of downtown Ft Lauderdale.  I look forward to continue capturing these boys as they grow!

Heather and Jon’s Holiday Portraits

I am made extremely aware of how quickly time passes as I’m seeing more and more clients for their holiday photos for the second time, and it’s really hard to believe that it’s been a year!  I’ve been able to keep in touch with this couple on Facebook, so I already knew they are expecting their first child.  It was great to be able to congratulate them in person, and to incorporate the upcoming addition to their family in some of their photos.  They are so photogenic, they really make my job easy, and I absolutely love Heather’s raspberry colored shirt.  I will quote Heather, who said, “I didn't want it to be holiday red overkill or too matchy matchy with Jon”.  Well Heather, you succeeded, and I am absolutely in love with these pictures.  I hope you will be too, and I hope I don’t have to wait another year to get you in front of my camera again!

Terry, Tara, Layla and Luke at Learning Express

I love getting to photograph families multiple times.  It’s so much fun to see the kids grow!  I also love how the kids start to remember me and my camera, and I love how every session is different.  This session was originally scheduled for the park today, but the weather had other plans.  I called around to some local candy shops and toy stores so we could move our session indoors, and Learning Express in Pembroke Pines loved the idea!  The kids had a great time, and we got some lovely portraits in the process.  Tara got some of her holiday shopping done, and so did I!

I had spoken to Ashley on the phone yesterday, so she knew to expect us today.  And she was there today, and helped me pick out great gifts for my boys.  She was super helpful and gave me demos of most of the toys I was interested in.  I got a $20 off $100 coupon, which was great, and they wrapped everything for me for free!  How can you beat that?!  When I got home, the boys were begging to open their presents.  I said no, but offered to bring them there after dinner to spend some of their own money, which they did, on nerf guns, which I had not purchased.

Bodytek Kidfit Kickoff Class

Bodytek Fitness has grown so much this year!  First they opened a new studio in Wynwood, then they expanded their Davie studio, and now they’ve introduced a Kidfit class!  This class is taught by Coach Roly.  He kept the kids moving, and entertained as they warmed up, did some different races, such as bear crawl and crab walk, played sharks and minnows, played dodge ball, and had a dance party, to name a few.  They had a great time being active.  What a great way to start their day!
