Makenzie Newborn

I had the pleasure of shooting this couple’s baby shower and maternity photos, so when it came time to photograph their new baby, it felt like we were old friends.  We started out with some photos with mom and dad, and then got some of Makenzie by herself.  It was fun to re-use some of the props we used for the maternity shoot with the baby, like the letters and mom’s wedding tiara.  I especially loved those few moments of snuggle time to allow her to relax so we could capture these moments of her first few weeks at home.  Welcome to the world, and I hope to get to capture more photos of you as you grow!

Terry, Tara, Layla, and Luke

I had the pleasure of a second photo shoot with these guys back in April. They are a beautiful family that is fun to be around, and also fun to photograph. They wanted to capture the Miami skyline in their photos before they leave the city (don't worry folks, they're just moving to Broward), so we met at the Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key to enjoy the sunset and the view!

Skarlen and Dennis’ Wedding

A June outdoor wedding in South Florida means worrying about whether or not it’s going to rain and obsessively watching the weather forecast for the week leading up to your big day, and hourly the day of.  Lucky for this couple, while the skies were overcast by the time of the ceremony in the afternoon, the rain did not fall.  They got married under a big tree at Plantation Heritage park, where we had taken their engagement photos a few weeks before.  The bridal party was into their group shots afterwards, and even wore superhero shirts under their formal attire.  It’s a totally popular trend these days, thanks to Pinterest, but who doesn’t love a good Pinterest-inspired photographic trend!? 

Then it was off to Tropical Acres steakhouse in Davie, FL for the celebration, where the bridal party gave me great entrance photos, and had fun dancing with this happy pair.  Skarlen had also requested a sparkler exit, and a light painting photo, which add to the special moments captured on their special day.  Congratulations!

Reese’s 1st Birthday Party

Join us for a sweet celebration! That's what it said on the invitation for Reese's 1st birthday party, and a sweet celebration it was! The pink and yellow lemonade theme was absolutely adorable, and was executed with many color coordinated details, from the balloons, tablecloths, and handmade lemonade stand, down to a yellow and pink fruit salad!

The birthday girl started off in a colorful tutu with matching wand as bright as her personality. She then happily lost her sugar virginity with a cake smash, and perhaps the cutest and most classic post-cake cleansing I've witnessed, a good old-fashioned garden hose! She finished the day in a lemon dress.

Reese, your family and friends just love you so, and I wish you a 2nd year as happy as your first!

Rebecca and Jay’s 10th Anniversary

I'm so excited to start my day today by wishing this lovely couple a happy anniversary in a photographic way!  I had the pleasure of taking Rebecca's maternity photos back in November, she and Jay were as much a pleasure to photograph now as they were then.  We met at the artsy Wynwood Walls district in downtown Miami to capture some badass photos of this badass couple!  We finished off our session with some skyline portraits out on Key Biscayne. When a couple and I bounce ideas off of each other like we did that hour, and when you have subjects posing in their own awesome way and creating candid moments with very little direction from me, the results are truly magical, as you can see. Happy anniversary!
