Laura, David, Keaton, and Mallory: Wynwood Walls Family Photo Session

One of my favorite things to capture in a family photo session is realness.  Realness can be hard to achieve when a session begins with the goal of a 'perfect' portrait with everyone looking and smiling at the camera.  But when mama is a photographer from Massachusetts who you met at a lifestyle photography workshop, you know she appreciates the real stuff.

And oh did these kids give me so much real!  When they looked at my camera, it wasn't with the intention of pleasing me or mom and giving us a picture perfect smile.  When they looked at my camera, it was to share a piece of themselves with me.  I got some silly, some serious, and some sibling rivalry.  I also captured love.

Ryan's Bar Mitzvah

Ryan became a Bar Mitzvah, and his family couldn't be more proud! We captured some photos of him and his family with the Torah, and in some beautiful golden hour light as the sun set!

Katie and Ethan's B'nai Mitzvah Pre-Shoot at Wynwood Walls

These siblings just celebrated their B'nai Mitzvah this past Shabbat and did such a beautiful job during the service, followed that evening with a celebratory reception.  This family was a pleasure to work with from start to finish.  They all have so much love for each other!  And it's contagious.  I don't think it's possible to be in their presence and not feel warm and happy!  I can't wait to process the photos from the mitzvah, but until then, here are some from our Mitzvah Pre-Shoot together a few months earlier in the colorful Wynwood Walls graffiti art district in Miami.

Challenge Fitness New Building

The gym that feels like home to me has a new home!  Challenge Fitness has moved to a new building in Wilton Manors, and I was there to capture some of the action during some of the first weekend classes!
