After a successful cake smash session the week before, I got this little lady in front of my camera again at her first birthday party! Mom went ALL OUT with an adorably executed Cheerios theme! There was a Happy Birthday bunting, Cheerio boxes as balloon holders, Cheerios as a clothesline for Bella’s monthly photos, a Cheerio cereal bar, a larger than life Cheerios box photo booth, Cheerios ‘rice krispie treats’, Cheerio cakes, and many other red and yellow details that you’ll have to see the photos to catch! And Bella’s personalized outfit was absolutely perfect with Cheerios and milk!

Alexa’s Bat Mitzvah
Alexa celebrated her Bat Mitzvah this past weekend. As photography is not part of the Shabbat ritual at Temple Sinai of Hollywood, we captured portraits in the synagogue the week before, followed by her celebration at the Embassy Suites in Ft Lauderdale. The celebration included pink table decorations, personalized m&ms, a green screen, a photo montage, and plenty of dancing. Alexa, it was a pleasure photographing your calm, friendly, and poised disposition, and I’ll see you around at synagogue!

Lauren, Michael, Dylan, and Blake Family Photo Session
Today was like a 19th High School reunion for me and this momma! Lauren and I went to Middle and High School together, (and even the same Elementary classes on different days) but since Facebook wasn’t around until after college, we didn’t really re-connect until then. We have been in touch through Facebook over the years, where I’ve watched her get married and have 2 beautiful children, and she’s seen my photography career grow. So, it was only a matter of time before we’d reconnect in person in this way! We met up at one of my favorite South Florida parks, and enjoyed the lovely scenery, and some cloud cover, which allowed us more photo ops without direct sunlight, and was a little more bearably cool (not by much). I love how mom coordinated their fall outfits, although I did give her encouragement to do so in shorts and short sleeves next time! The boys are absolutely adorable, and I love how this family loves to make each other laugh. It was a pleasure, and I hope I don’t have to wait 19 more years to see them again!

Sharon, Jason, and Zachary celebrate Emma's First Birthday
So many babies are celebrating first birthdays these past few weeks, and I’m honored to be capturing them! One of the things I love about shooting these sessions is that although the elements are similar, the photos never are, because each family and each child brings their own unique personality to the mix. And there was plenty of personality here! From the moment we were introduced as we were getting out of the car, Zachary and I were talking like old friends. He invited me over to his house to see his bumblebee flowers, and we took turns coming up with photo ideas and poses. Emma babbles quite a bit too. I’m sure she can’t wait to have conversations with her big brother! After successful family photos, we took some of Emma by herself, and mom had such fun props planned! She then tried her cake, which she could have cared less about, and finally she got to clean off in the bath, which she loved! Happy birthday little lady!

Bella’s First Birthday Portraits
This little lady recently reached her first birthday, and will be celebrating with family and friends this coming weekend, so we met this past weekend for some first birthday portraits, including a cake smash and splash. We could not have asked for a lovelier evening. According to her parents, Bella is normally all smiles, but as it was later in the day and she was tired, she gave me a mix of more thoughtful expressions and smiles, which I just love. Another special element is that at Bella’s newborn and 6 month photo sessions, she wore the pearls and scarf, which belonged to her aunt, of blessed memory, and we incorporated them again for her first birthday. Can’t wait to celebrate with you and capture all the fun of your party this weekend!
