This lovely lady is on her way to becoming a Bat Mitzvah, so we gathered to pre-party and capture these mitzvah pre shoot photos! It's always fun to include some family shots, too! Her theme is going to be glam. I sought out the backgrounds, but Rebecca totally brought the vibe! Looking forward to continuing the celebration with you!
Sibling mitzvahs are always a fave of mine. It's such a joy to see the younger sister from several years earlier become a Bat Mitzvah, and the older brother becoming a young man. That's just one of the things I love about being a mitzvah photographer. In most instances, I feel like I am taking the last professional photos of them as boys. And every time I see them a few years later at their younger sibling's mitzvah, they are men! I'm not crying, you're crying!
As for Ruby, she absolutely shined from beginning to end. She confidently rocked the family formal photos, and smiled and thoroughly enjoyed her time on the bima leading her service. She didn't leave the dance floor all night long, and neither did her friends and family.

It has been a joy to capture this family annually since they made Florida their home a few years back. I loved the juxtaposition of their dressy black outfits against the upscale urban backdrop of Riverwalk in downtown Ft Lauderdale. They are always so sweet and kind with each other, and their love shines through in every image!
With so much going on in the world, there are many good causes to support. When I announced I wanted to do some mini photo sessions to raise money for one, this was one of the first families to respond. They do not love posed portraits, and they love to have fun together. So between my silly prompts and their freedom to be themselves, I think we created quite a bit of magic in our 15 minutes together!!
All my families are special, but this one is perhaps the most special! They discovered me early on in my photography career, and have loyally and faithfully shared with me the joy of spending time with them to document their beautiful family annually! I am so grateful for their continued support, and honored to be creating, capturing, and freezing time for this family! This year, we ventured down to Miami’s Design District for some modern architecture and fun!
